Mission Accomplished: Tiny Homes Fully Funded, Strengthening Our Commitment to Veterans

At Fifth Street Ministries, our work is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: that every
individual deserves the opportunity to rebuild- with dignity, support, and a place to call their
own.
On March 31, 2026, we were proud to share a meaningful milestone in that work. Through the generosity of our community, the four newest Tiny Homes in our Tiny Home Community are now fully paid off - a significant step forward in strengthening our ability to serve those who have served our country.
These homes are more than shelter. They are a housing pathway for veterans- offering
stability, structure, and the space to move forward. For many, they represent the first place in a
long time where safety, independence, and accountability come together in a way that makes lasting change possible.
This milestone was made possible through a targeted campaign led by our Director of
Philanthropy, Todd Fowler, and supported by donors who believe deeply in the importance of
investing in veterans and in long-term solutions- not just temporary fixes. We marked the culmination of this effort with a special gathering, where we had the privilege of hearing from Scott Neil, whose story brought powerful perspective to the moment. Scott shared his experience serving as a Green Beret before, during, and after September 11 attacks—including the early days of deployment into Afghanistan alongside Special Operations teams often referred to as the “Horse Soldiers.” His story reflected not only courage in combat, but the long road that follows service.
Years later, Scott and fellow Green Berets came together to build a new chapter of purpose through the creation of American Freedom Distillery. In a powerful act of remembrance, each of their bottles is molded from steel from the World Trade Center. As a historical note, pieces of the towers were carried into Afghanistan by the special ops teams and left in undisclosed locations as symbols of missions completed and lives honored. It was a reminder that service does not end when someone returns home. And for many veterans, the transition back to stability can be just as complex as the service itself.
That is why this work matters. At Fifth Street Ministries, our Veterans Services are designed to meet individuals where they are—providing not just housing, but connection, accountability, and a pathway forward. The Tiny Homes Community is a critical part of that continuum, offering a step between crisis and long-term independence.
With these homes now paid off, we are better positioned to sustain and strengthen this model - ensuring that future resources can be directed toward supportive services, maintenance, and continued opportunities for veterans to rebuild. To everyone who played a role in this effort—through giving, advocating, or simply believing in the mission -thank you! This milestone reflects what can happen when a community comes together with purpose.
And more importantly, it strengthens what comes next.
